299 homes.
1,628 radiator upgrades.
Broad Oak delivered a heat network retrofit across nine communal heating systems at Richmond Park, Sheffield. Serving 299 homes and the community centre, the programme brought plant-room improvements together with controls upgrades and recommissioning across 1,628 radiators.
The challenge.
Understood.
The estate needed improvements across the full heating network, from central plant to individual homes. Ageing equipment, distribution insulation and controls required a coordinated response across nine communal systems.

Expertise.
In every detail.
Following an HNES optimisation assessment, we delivered the phased upgrade programme for Great Places Housing Group under principal contractor FairHeat. We improved boiler sequencing, pumps and filtration, renewed distribution insulation and installed Guru smart metering and heating controls. Work within homes included heat interface units and new connections. We upgraded pressure-independent radiator controls and recommissioned 1,628 radiators across the homes and community centre, improving room-by-room control and balancing throughout the estate. Four new radiators completed the community-centre heating upgrades. Coordinating the central plant, network and dwelling works gave the programme a complete view of the heating system, with delivery planned alongside the housing provider and residents throughout the programme.
